Rebekka Hilmer Heltoft is a visual artist and gardener with a background in philosophy.
She investigates relations between nature, materials, and perception through a multitude of expressions such as installations, sculpture, film, text, gardening and drawings.
Hilmer Heltoft has studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts—Schools of Visual Art, the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, and the University of Copenhagen.
Her work has been shown in contexts such as Kunsthal Charlottenborg (DK), Franz Kaka Gallery (CA), CPH:DOX (DK), GOMO curated by Salon 75 (AT), and Finn’s Bakery.
In 2023 she published her first book Drawn to the Pencil; Dark Light Glitter.
She is the recipient of the Niels Wessel Bagges Honorary Grant (2024) and has been artist in residence at Arcus Research (2025, Ibaraki, Japan).
She has worked at the farm of ecological medicinal farmer and witch Lærke Lyhne, different gardens under The Agency for Culture and Palaces and for Jonatan Bengta Nature Garden & Design.
In 2026 she was part of the Modern Gardener Program taking place in the pioneering Hilldrop garden in Essex (UK).
